Wireless TriggersThe Blackbelt Wireless Flash Triggers are designed to be easy to use, simple to setup, and provide you with years of reliable service.

The system comes with one transmitter and one or more receivers. The receiver is typically used by placing it on the hot shoe of your camera while a speedlite is put onto the receiver for off-camera flash.

Set the channels

Wireless TriggersBefore using the wireless flash system make sure that both the transmitter and the receivers are both set to the same channel. If the channels do not match, the remote flashes will not fire.

Since there are two switches each with two settings, there are four total channels available. If you are shooting with other photographers that each have the same system, up to four photographers can be shooting at the same time without interfering with each other.

Install the transmitter

Wireless Triggers - TransmitterPlace the transmitter into the hot shoe of the camera as shown in the picture. The elongated part of the transmitter should be facing the front of the camera and the squared off end should be towards the back of the camera.

Test the operation by pressing the shutter button on the camera. You should see the red test light blink once. A very small number of cameras won’t fire the transmitter on the hot shoe. If you have one of these incompatible cameras or you want to use a flash in the camera’s hot shoe, then you can connect a PC Sync (included) cable from the camera body to the PC Sync port on the side of the transmitter.

Setup a Flash

YN560There are a number of different ways to use a flash on the wireless flash triggers. With speedlites, you can just slide the flash into the hot shoe on the receiver and the flash will fire when the transmitter is activated.

With studio strobes, you will need to use the PC Sync cable (included) to connect the receiver to the strobe lights.

The receiver can be mounted on top of a light stand or even a regular tripod.

Once the flash is connected to the receiver, turn on the receiver and then turn on the flash. Test to make sure the flash is firing by pressing the test button on the transmitter or the shutter button on the camera.

Using an Umbrella

There are two ways to use an umbrella with the wireless flash triggers. First off you can use a standard swivel mount on a light stand and insert an umbrella into the swivel mount. If you are using a tripod instead of a light stand you can use the built-in umbrella holder .
