We have had several requests for some close up detail on the Blackbelt Swivel Mount that comes with the lighting kits. This is probably unlike most swivel mounts you have seen in the past.
First off, it has a very deep V design to ensure that your speedlites can’t short out on the bottom. Most importantly though is the design of the capture mechanism. Where most swivel mounts are passive devices, meaning you slide your speedlite or trigger on, then spin the wheel on that device to create a friction fit. This can often fail or not be tight enough and allow your equipment to fall out.
